San Diego’s Histogen announced final results from a clinical trial of its baldness treatment over the weekend. Nearly 85 percent of 24 men with male pattern baldness had more hair at the end of three months, and experienced an increase in hair thickness and density, according to a press release. Results came after a single injection of the company’s hair regrowth product (formerly known as ReGenica, now called Hair Stimulating Complex). Histogen announced top line results of the trial in February; it presented the final results Saturday at the annual meeting of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons in Amsterdam. Histogen spokeswoman Eileen Naughton Brand said some subjects continued to experience hair regrowth five months post-injection, and no serious adverse reactions to the experimental treatment were seen. A mid-stage study is planned, Brand said.
