Thermo Fisher Names New CEO

Thermo Fisher Scientific (NYSE:[[ticker:TMO]]) said today that Marc Casper has been appointed to become president and CEO of the company on October 15. Casper now serves as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Waltham, MA-based Thermo Fisher, a maker of scientific research products that reported 2008 revenue of $10.5 billion. He will replace outgoing Thermo Fisher CEO Marijn Dekkers, who is leaving the company to become chief executive of Germany’s Bayer AG.
