Ignition in $1.1M Fotopedia Deal

Fotonauts, a France-based provider of a Wikipedia-inspired online photo encyclopedia called Fotopedia, has raised $1.1 million in an equity financing, according to an SEC filing. TechCrunch reports that Ignition Partners, of Bellevue, Paris-based Banexi Ventures Partners, and company co-founder and former Apple executive Jean-Marie Hullot invested in the round. Ignition partner Brad Silverberg is on the board of directors at Fotonauts. The startup lists a Cambridge, MA, address in its SEC filing, but Xconomy is told that the Massachusetts address is used for administrative purposes and the firm still resides in France.
