HC Ventures Leads $28M Round for InfaCare

HealthCare Ventures, a Cambridge, MA-based venture firm, has led a $28 million Series B round of financing for InfaCare Pharmaceueticals, of Trevose, PA, which is developing an experimental drug intended to prevent newborns from developing a blood condition linked to neurological problems, the company announced. Other backers in the round included repeat investor Atlas Venture, which has an office in Waltham, MA; new investor Longitude Capital, which has an operation in Greenwich, CT; and previous investor FirstMark Capital, of New York, NY.
