TechFlash Live: Bootstrapping vs. Venture Capital

Information and registration here.

Join the entire technology community for TechFlash Live on June 15, an evening event that will bring top executives from throughout the region to network and develop business together. Whether you’re a CEO, entrepreneur, developer, marketing guru or connected to the tech industry in some other way, you’ll make valuable connections during our cocktail hour as well as through our exciting program to follow.

In this first-of-its-kind TechFlash event, we’ll explore the creative approaches that entrepreneurs and investors are using to grow their businesses. Startups require capital to become successful, but not nearly as much as they once did in this era of bootstrapping and do-it-yourself entrepreneurial ventures. So what role, if any, should angel investing and venture capital play in this changing landscape, and what’s the best way for entrepreneurs to bring their dreams to reality?

We’re excited to assemble leading entrepreneurs, angel investors and venture capitalists for a first-of-its-kind TechFlash Town Hall Forum at Seattle University. The format of the event will be a little different than our past gatherings, a true Town Hall where a number of speakers will be able to sound off and share the floor. We expect some fireworks for sure, especially given our lineup. They include:

Michael Arrington, founder and publisher of TechCrunch.
Mark Britton, founder and CEO of Avvo.
Bill Bryant, angel investor and venture partner at Draper Fisher Jurvetson.
Hillel Cooperman, founder of Jackson Fish Market.
Ben Elowitz, founder and CEO of Wetpaint.
Geoff Entress, angel investor and venture partner at Voyager Capital.
Richard Fade, partner at Ignition Partners.
Greg Gottesman, managing director at Madrona Venture Group.
Serena Glover, co- founder and former executive at Twango.
Glenn Kelman, president & CEO of Redfin.
Andy Liu, angel investor and co-founder of BuddyTV.
Steve Murch, founder of BigOven.com and former CEO of VacationSpot.com.
Dan Rosen, chairman of the Alliance of Angels.
Andy Sack, general partner at Founder’s Co-op.
Lucinda Stewart, managing director at OVP Venture Partners.

This will be an interactive discussion with heavy audience participation, and practical tips for anyone contemplating or already running a startup.
