Chris is a managing director of CommonAngels, where he invests in technology startups. Over the past 6 years, he has led CommonAngels investments in Carbonite (IPO: CARB), Linkable Networks, Practically Green, OwnerIQ, Xconomy, Insightix, Blaze Software, Offerpop, Yieldbot, Kibits, and Powerhouse Dynamics. His investment focus is in Internet, digital media, and software sectors.
Previously, was a venture partner at Industry Ventures where he was actively involved in the acquisition and management of secondary venture investment portfolios.
Prior to Industry Ventures, Chris was a Director of Corporate Development for BEA Systems, a leading enterprise software company with over $1B in sales. Prior to BEA, Chris led the private equity practice for the startup research firm, Stax Inc. Chris also spent six years with the top ranked investment bank in Australia and co-founded an investment firm, Northstate Partners. He started his career as an equity analyst.
He also serves on the board for the Center for Women & Enterprise, is a mentor at TechStars, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Queensland, Australia.
