Mark Bowles has spent more than 25 years in the semiconductor, wireless, and kiosk industries. He was a co-founder of San Diego’s ecoATM (acquired by Outerwall), Vativ Technologies (acquired by Entropic Communications), Staccato Communications, and BOPS (acquired by Altera), and was instrumental in the formation of Power Computing (acquired by Apple), Panorama Designs (acquired by Motorola), and BlueSteel Networks (acquired by Broadcom). Altogether, Bowles has helped six startups raise a total of $250 million through 17 rounds of venture financing. He has been an active member of several IEEE technical standards working groups and other professional organizations. He holds nine patents and has over 30 pending in kiosk technology and wireless authentication. Bowles is a regular speaker and guest lecturer on entrepreneurism and innovation at universities throughout the country.
He has a BS in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M, and a Master of Science in Technology Management (eMBA) from Pepperdine University. Raised in Southeast Texas by Greek Orthodox-Cajun-Hippies, Bowles now lives in La Jolla, CA with his wife and three sons.
