The 2020 National Xconomy Awards honors the outstanding achievements of the top individuals, companies, and organizations that make the country’s life sciences ecosystem the most vibrant and innovative in the world.
Building on the popularity and strength of the 2017-2019 Xconomy Awards Boston and the 2019 Xconomy Awards San Diego, the 2020 National Xconomy Awards winners will be chosen with guidance from a judging panel of luminaries from the industry. Join us as we celebrate those who create, innovate, lead, and inspire.
Who should apply?
The awards are open to individuals, companies, and organizations working across the life sciences, and feature innovations and business success in the biotech industry, medicine, academia, digital health, and healthcare. Only North American companies will be considered. You may submit multiple nominations and can nominate yourself.
Is there a nomination fee?
There is no fee for nominating.
When is the new nomination deadline?
Submissions were accepted until Friday, July 17.
What if I already submitted a nomination?
Previous 2020 nominations will be automatically considered for the new expanded awards program. However, we do encourage you to resubmit if there are any updates that would improve your nomination.
How are finalists determined and when will they be announced?
All nominations will be carefully reviewed by our editorial staff, who will determine which are best qualified to become finalists. Entries will also be judged by appropriateness to category and provided supporting information. Successful applications tend to avoid marketing language, provide specific examples of why the nominee is a good fit for the category, explain how the nominee is doing things better or differently than others, and give a sense of the broader impact of these achievements or efforts on the biotech industry. The top nominations in each category were announced on Wednesday, July 29.
What is the Meet the Finalists program?
Starting on Sept. 8, leading up to the Sept. 24 awards celebration, we’ll host daily Meet the Finalists webcasts for each awards category. The free 25-minute programs feature Xconomy’s editorial staff sitting down for a conversation with the nominees. Meet the Finalists will explore and reinforce why each has earned the distinction of being a 2020 National Xconomy Awards finalist, and provide invaluable insight into trendsetting life science technology, business, and entrepreneurship. How are winners determined and when will they be announced?
Winners of all 11 awards will be announced during a fun, fast-paced, interactive online celebration on Thursday, Sept. 24 from 3-5 p.m. ET. The event includes:
• An insider’s look into our judges’ world, with insight on their evaluation and thought processes for choosing winners
• Short acceptance speeches from the winners
• Networking through our custom app that provides an attendee list, the ability to send private messages to all, and space for hosting company/personal profiles and documents
