Fresh off a name change, Austin, TX-based consumer goods accelerator SKU has unveiled the seven startups that make up its fourth class.
The former Incubation Station recast itself as SKU in homage to what founder Shari Wynne calls the “atomic unit of consumer goods.” Stock keeping unit, or SKU, is how individual products and services are categorized by businesses, making it the perfect moniker for the re-branded accelerator, she adds.
In addition, Wynne says that SKU will announce a second consumer goods startup accelerator in another city within the next two months. “We’re ready to grow,” she says.
SKU invests $8,000 into the startups and also invests $4,000 for each company into an AngelList fund. In exchange, companies with more than $1 million in sales give up 4 percent, while those with sales under that threshold give up 8 percent to the accelerator.

Better Bites Bakery (Austin) makes specialty baked goods that can be personalized to customers’ dietary needs and are gluten-free, vegan, kosher, non-GMO, and organic.
CM4 (Austin) makes and markets smartphone cases with integrated wallets, as well as other smartphone accessories.
Moniker Guitars (Austin) builds customizable electric guitars and basses that you can design online.
Must B Nutty (Austin) makes almond flour tortillas that the company says taste just like flour tortillas. The tortillas are paleo, vegan, grain-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and gluten-free.
Primo Products (Austin) manufactures a premium antibacterial sports chalk to guard against infection, increase grip, and condition athletes’ hands to protect them from skin tears that occur in sports like rock climbing, weight lifting, and CrossFit.
Trophy Skin (Dallas) has developed at-home skin care tools that replace or augment treatments normally done at a spa or dermatologist’s office.
Wildway (San Antonio) produces a grain-free granola made entirely of fruits, nuts, and seeds. The granola is gluten-free, paleo, vegan, oil-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and non-GMO.
